Ever heard of Aluta Sungalsses? They are daring and gorgeous…
Spring is the season of blossoming flowers, sunlight, bright colours, and it comes with the best accessories for both men and women. With Joburg weather recently reaching as high as 30 degrees and above, one needs to look out for stylish shades to protect our eyes from the sun rays. Each year Sunglass trends change either going retro or adding colour and bizarre designs. This year sunglasses are all about being adventurous, bright colours and bold prints so here are the wearable trends of 2017 just for you.
Here are a few of some of the shades to consider for this summer, originally published on Zando by Jade Robertson.
• Shield Sunglasses
80’s has come through strong this year in clothing, shoes, patterns and now sunglasses too. We absolutely love these shield style sunglasses, it will shield you from all those people you’d rather avoid and let’s not forget the paparazzi (let’s play pretend for a moment)
The Polaroid trend is a favourite throughout the world from fashion bloggers to sports stars everyone owns a pair of Polaroid sunglasses. It is outstandingly obvious that Aviators are a classic and genius choice and the style that most people would opt for as it compliments most face types.
• Brow-bar sunglasses
The brow bar is typically spotted on aviator styles, but this summer, it’s making an appearance on all types of silhouettes. From round sunglasses, like the pairs our editors wore here, to cat-eyes and geometric shapes, this detail adds a little drama to any pair of sunnies.
• The extreme cat-eye
This traditional shape takes it up a notch with this summer season. The cat-eye is really making a statement by going for extreme, think over-sized or polarised, anything that give a usual pair of cat-eye sunglasses some extra spunk.
• Coloured lenses
This trend started showing up last year during the spring and summer season, it grew really quickly and now it’s one of our must-have trends for this season. Why wouldn’t you want to look at the world through rose-tinted sunglasses? ’90s-inspired red to psychedelic ombre, lenses of all colours of the rainbow are a must.
