A Transgender’s Life in Pakistan by Director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy


The LBGTI Communities are not accepted in most countries. Transgender is seen as the most unacceptable in the LGBTI gender group as it goes against Culture, Religion and laws. As transgender people fight for their basic civil liberties globally, 20 countries have passed some form of legislation recognizing their rights, according to the Global Commission on HIV and the Law.

CNN had made a list of how some legislators and courts around the world have grappled with the issue of gender identity and inclusion. Oscar and EMMY award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy follows the stories of  three transgender people, who each represent a different way of life in Pakistan.
